“Be a Part of It!” is more than a theme – it is a measure of our success. The Decatur Arts Festival is truly an interactive, inclusive community event. Members of the community participate through our volunteer program and community art project. The local business community participates by providing sponsorships, advertising in the festival program, showing hospitality during the ArtWalk, and serving on our Board and committees. The academic community also plays an active role in the Fine Arts Exhibition at Agnes Scott College. The City of Decatur provides unflagging support and it truly takes every city department to make it all work. City employees act as part of the team that produces the festival. The staff of the Decatur Recreation Department works with the children’s festival planning committee. The DeKalb County Public Library collaborated on the Literary Arts Festival and has members on the festival planning committee. Each part of the community is actually a piece of the puzzle; they all come together to complete the portrait of a successful festival.
